Jamie Walton (University of Nottingham) began by reminding his audience that “two of the most fundamental measures of order for aperiodic patterns are complexity (the growth rate in the number of patches of a given size) and repetitivity (how regularly patches repeat within the pattern)”. He then presented some recent research leading to a lovely uncluttered and insightful result. This was a complementary talk to that given earlier by Henna Koivusalo, both being based on their recently published joint paper.
