~ Convergence and Eigenvalues for S-adic Systems ~
French mathematician Valérie Berthé (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) is associated with a large collective that have done much to present substitutive dynamical systems in a coherent and structured manner. They work under the pseudonyms M Lothaire and Pytheas Fogg, and have published a number of comprehensive textbooks over the last thirty years. These textbooks are the backbone upon which hundreds of research papers have subsequently been based. It was a tremendous honour to be in the audience for Valérie's talk. This was a presentation of some cutting edge research in collaboration with Paulina Cecchi and Reem Yassawi.
