~ Heads in the Sand ~
After Jamie's talk, I joined a large group that headed into Derby's city centre for a late lunch. Along the way we passed the art installation pictured. With no information displayed, there was speculation on what it represented. My contribution was to suggest it was “Heads in the Sand” and about the lack of concerted action to mitigate climate change. Via an internet search we discovered it was actually to do with condemned prisoners who were set free during the Reform Bill Riots in Bristol, Derby and Nottingham in 1831.
