Snooze by Martin Hansen

Snooze (2009)

There is a lot more to seeing than simply having eyes.
Our brains perform all sort of manipulations upon the signals from our optic nerves without
our greater selves necessarily being aware.
Face recognition is particularly well developed in humans which is why
we often see a face where there is none.
So, a narled tree trunk in a wood at twilight often resembles a twisted face.
Snooze is an abstract pattern that, if you stare at it long enough,
triggers an impression of a sleeping face.
Either that, or I'm starting to go mad.
