Alien Eyes by Martin Hansen

Alien Eyes (2009)

Aged 9, I watched Niel Armstrong make history as he took
mankind's first steps on another world in 1969.
Being permitted by my dad to be up at 3am in the morning to watch TV
suitably impressed upon me the enormity of the Moon Landing.
All things 'space' & 'alien' seemed possible.
Alien Eyes took a lot of manipulation to get 'just so'.
I worked endlessly on the tenticles, trying to hint that they came out a hidden mouth.
I humanised my creature with hints of flesh
around the eyes but the creature's gaze I wanted to be unhuman and unloving.
