Heart Line by Martin Hansen

Heart Line (2005)

There are many ways of mathematically drawing a love-heart shape, many of them not quite right.
So I was very pleased to have discovered this particularly attractive rendition.
At the risk of destroying the illusion of romance, the pink 'fuzz' around the main line is
a high frequency sine wave. Adding this to the image was difficult.
The other technique used here is the speckling of the background.
A function to generate random numbers lies behind it.
So much technology behind such a simple image !
